Dan Elnathan

Dean - School of Business Administration

Dan is an Associate Professor of Accounting and holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. He received his M.B.A. and B.A from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. At COLMAN’s School of Business Administration, Dan has served as Chair of the Accounting Department, Director of Undergraduate Programs and Associate Dean. In 2012 Dan established the International Business Program, the first and only Undergraduate International Business Program in Israel and has been the Director of the program ever since.

At COLMAN he was Head of the Teaching Excellence Authority, serves on COLMAN’s Academic Managing Committee, Board of Trustees, and the boards of the Het Center for the study of Regulation and Competition, the Zanbar Center for the study of Israel’s Economy, and the Chinese Media Center.

Prior to joining COLMAN, Dan was a faculty member at The University of Southern California and Tel Aviv University, a visiting professor at The University of Michigan, The Vlerick Business School in Ghent, Belgium and The Interdisciplinary Center, Israel. throughout his teaching career spanning more than 35 years, Dan has received a number of academic awards for excellence.

Dan has published in journals such as Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Management Accounting Research, The International Journal of Project Management, The International Journal of Accounting and Journal of International Accounting Research. He currently serves on the editorial board of The Journal of Accounting Education.

His research interests include International Accounting, Benchmarking, Costing and Control and Valuations. Current research projects focus on the value of public (non-accounting) information and the regulation of SME’s.

He served as chair and member of professional accreditation committees for the Council for Higher Education in Israel, and coordinator of National CPA exams in Management Accounting for the Accountants Council in Israel.
