Shmuel Ellis is a (full) professor of social psychology and organizational behavior at the College of Management Academic Studies.
He received his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Tel Aviv University in 1985. During the years 1988-2015 he was on the faculty of the Coller (formerly, Recanati) Graduate School of Management and for several years served as the Head of the Department of Management and the Academic Director of the Organizational Consulting Program. From 1990 to 1992 he was visiting professor at the Sloan School of Management, MIT. During the years 2015-2017 he was the head of the Department of Psychology, College of Management Academic Studies and from 2016 to 2017 he was also the Vice President for Academic Affairs (Rector) of the College.
His main areas of interest are reflection interventions and learning from successes vs. failures, organizational genealogies, entrepreneurship, imprinting and knowledge transmission. Shmuel Ellis has published in top-tier journals such as Organization Science, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Human Relations, Judgment and Decision Making and Current Directions in Psychological Science.
