Employees from the Israeli company Nova and COLMAN students worked together to solve real-world challenges faced by employees at Nova.
Nova develops and produces measurement systems for the semiconductor industry. In the hackathon, the students were presented 4 challenges from the company’s development process.
The hackathon was comprised of 10 multidisciplinary teams which included Nova employees as well as COLMAN undergraduate design school students and COLMAN entrepreneurship graduate students and took place over a 12 hour period. During the technological challenges that the teams were facing, they were also given creative breaks that included a yoga class and an exercise in inventive thinking. The winning team received a cash prize and in addition, Nova decided to add their idea to the 2020 Nova workplan.
